31st Annual Academic Awards Ceremony
The Ron and Linda Mafrige Auditorium was standing-room-only during the College of Business Administration’s 31st Annual Academic Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2006. This year an audience of almost 300 individuals watched as 98 scholarships – with a combined value of nearly $100,000 – were awarded to the best and brightest business students on the Sam Houston State University campus.

Chancellor to Visit as Spring 2006 Executive-in-Residence
Charles R. Matthews, Chancellor of the Texas State University System, will visit the College of Business Administration on Wednesday March 29 as COBA's Spring 2006 Executive-in-Residence. During his stay Chancellor Matthews will co-teach a business finance and commercial banking class, visit with College faculty and staff, and offer his unique perspective on higher education in a presentation in the Mafrige Auditorium.

Sherwin-Williams, the nation's largest manufacturer and distributor of coatings, has named the College of Business Administration a recipient of its esteemed Sherwin-Williams Award of Excellence, in recognition of the superior career and education guidance the College provides to its students. |

COBA Banker Takes the Reins
Deborah Hinton Kovacevich ’74, president and CEO of the State Bank of Jewett and graduate of the College of Business Administration, is the newly-elected chairman of the board of the prestigious Texas Bankers Association. She is the first female in history to serve as chair for the TBA, a group that includes some of the most prominent names within Texas banking circles. |

Spring 2005 Student Leader Luncheon
Dr. R. Dean Lewis, dean of the College of Business Administration at Sam Houston State University, recently hosted a luncheon honoring student leaders within the College. Following a buffet lunch, the twenty-four student officers in attendance listened attentively to Dr. Lewis’ summary of the plans and programs of the College and then participated in a lively question-and-answer session. |

College Hosts 30th Academic Awards Ceremony
The College of Business Administration hosted its 30th Annual Academic Awards Ceremony on April 27, 2005 in the Ronald P. Mafrige Auditorium. Sixty-two scholarships and awards totaling nearly $60,000 were awarded to eighty of the best and brightest juniors and seniors within the College.
